Neon Yellow Lancer Evolution: October 27th, 2006 - February 22nd, 2007

Farewell, may you rest in peace. Or in pieces rather, judging by the mirror, windshield wiper and random part lying in Bill's room.

AUSSIES WHITEWASHED!!!

Australia 346/5 after 50 overs.
New Zealand 350/9 after 49.3 overs.

Series: New Zealand win 3-0.

Australia been whitewashed for the first time since God knows how many years (or decades for that matter). The World Cup's wide open. Just 20 days to go.

It's happened

Australia are no longer the number one ODI team in the world. They drop to second place after their 4th consecutive loss in a row. Must've been a great chase by New Zealand, who take the 3-match series with one game still to go.

South Africa now go into the World Cup as favorites. Another twist in the tale it seems.

The name is Bond. Shane Bond.

Australia 148 all out in 49.3 overs.
New Zealand 149/0 in 27 overs.

Talk about brutal humiliation.

And this within less than a month of the big thing. Australia risk being dethroned from their spot at the top (which they've held ever since rankings came into play) if they lose one of their next two matches. And judging by how the last three went, I wouldn't put it past them to let South Africa take number one for the very first time.

Chokers

It sucks when you spend 5 years getting rid of tags only to have them return to you in the eleventh hour. Every bad point the Indian team tried to get rid of is now coming back to haunt them.

  • They're chokers, they can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory

  • They can't chase. At all. (Weren't they considered the best chasers about a year ago?)

  • They depend too heavily on 1-2 main players.

  • The tail can't bat.

  • The fielding is pretty horrendous (not that I saw it - thank God for that - but from what i hear...)

  • More later, I'm sure I'll think of some.

Australia 117/6, require 94 from 67 balls

Woah is that actually happening? Australia haven't lost a series for years and years, especially not the VB series (or, as it's now called, the Commonwealth Bank Series), and more so, England haven't really won anything for a long ass time. And now, just as the world cup comes up, things are looking to change drastically...
